The Flying K Ranch began out of a passion for horses and a desire to partner ourselves with these soulful creatures.  One day though, we had to make the tough decision to end our thouroughbred breeding program.  It was a sad day when we loaded our gray broodmare, Annie, into the trailer that would take her to her new home.  She was the "Big Mama" of the herd and looked after all the others.  We miss her dearly.

The Miniature Mediterranean Donkey came to the U.S. in the early 1900's from the islands of Sicily and Sardinia.  Now these much smaller, much sweeter equine are the perfect fit at our ranch.  By breeding for athletic, intelligent offspring, we intend to promote these amazing animals.

Miniature Donkeys are completely trustworthy around children, the elderly, and the handicapped.  At maturity they are easily trained to pull carts and to be ridden by small children.  Companionable with other livestock, they become quite attached to their herdmates, as well as their owners. Miniature Donkeys are valued for their unique qualities, therefore making them a good investment; an investment that we're positive you will fall in love with!
